"Millennium" em Poets.org (Academy of American Poets)

The lion will not be quicker than the ox
in pasture search.
The lamb and the bird
will be a poetical form,
the wolf will have the kiss in its mouth.
The dove and the eagle,
sailing
in waters of white silt.
Then an angel will make
of the Earth a lyric state.

(J.T.Parreira)

This is riveting, reminiscent of Blake. I, too, am baffled by lines 3 and 4. ("Bird" seems too generic a term in a poem where all the other creatures are specifically identified.) Lines 7 through 9 also stick out a bit, being a sentence fragment in a work otherwise composed of complete statements.

Surreal, which I like, but abstract, which I do not. The metaphors could be fleshed out: The lamb and the bird will be a poetical form, How?

(G.Wilkens)
